China filmmakers look to rival Hollywood

China has certainly caught the attention of Hollywood.

It overtook Japan to become the world's second-largest film market in 2012 and is forecast to overtake America's soon.

China's rising middle class have been flocking to cinemas that have huge IMAX screens and 3D films, bringing in billions of dollars in box office receipts.

As a result, Hollywood blockbusters such as Iron Man 3 and Transformers now contain scenes targeted at the growing mainland audience.

But China is also looking to develop its own film industry, as the BBC's chief business correspondent Linda Yueh reports.
