The idea for RSScockpit arose in June 2008 at a dynamic session in Amsterdam involving entrepreneurs involved in internet start-ups, as well as from extensive use of blogs using feed readers such as Netvibes.

RSScockpit was founded by and is under ownership of Peter Evers, together with Edwin Eversdijk. Peter has years of experience in information management, developed at a major financial institution and with a large law firm. At the financial institution he and a motivated team founded a substantial hybrid library and at the law firm he set up the company’s intranet. Edwin is an experienced software developer, who worked at financial institutions, insurance companies, media- and retailorganisations in java technology projects. Frontend, backend as well as searchengine related.

Once we had conceived the idea for RSScockpit, we moved on to building, testing and applying it. We also found a graphic designer willing to develop the website. Based on feedback received from initial users, RSScockpit has been further adapted. Examples of this are the email notification feature and the options to utilise and incorporate Twitter. RSScockpit has added the possibility to scan the most Social Media. RSScockpit will continually be improved in response to users’ suggestions.
